Spartan Spinners—December 6, 2023--NOW--Notes on Wednesday
Hello Spartan Spinners!
It's the most wonderful time of the year! Getting ready for the holidays.
We had a good turnout at our dance last Saturday, December 2. Dean cued early rounds at 7 pm and our dance was at 7:30 pm with Tom Pustinger, calling. We had 19 Spinners with 4 visitors and 2 squares dancing. Of course we enjoyed some delicious snacks too.
The student classes continue on Tuesday nights, 7-9 pm, sponsored by the Peach Blossoms Club at Inman Methodist Church. Tom Pustinger is the caller. Please join up with us next week on Tuesday, December 12. I believe there is just one more week after that with the classes ending on December 19. Thank you to all who come each week, we normally have three squares dancing. It's been fun dancing and working with the new students, making them feel welcome and giving them encouragement. Hope to see you all there these last two lessons.
This is the week folks for all the holiday fun. We start off this Thursday, December 7, at our Christmas Party at the Spartanburg Police Club, 765 Police Club Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Party starts at 6 pm, and we will enjoy the menu of steak, salad, baked potato and drink. Don't forget to bring a yummy dessert and a gift (optional) valued at $10. Gift must be wrapped for the gift exchange. Remember this is not a dance, just a wonderful time of fellowship to celebrate the holidays with your friends!
Next on the agenda the next day, Friday, December 8, is the Spartan Spinners/Peach Blossoms combo Christmas Dance at 7:30 pm at Inman Methodist Church, 27 Bishop Street, Inman, SC, hosted by Peach Blossoms. Wear your Christmas attire! There is no charge at the door for the dance and please bring a finger food to share for the merriment! Everyone is welcome!
Ok the week can't end without our third event on Saturday, December 9, 12:30 pm, at the SS/PB combo Christmas Party. Location at Caroline Dennis' home, 1899 Highway 11, Landrum, SC. Please bring an entree, side dish or dessert to share. Please check with Caroline if you have questions or directions to her house at 864-980-4678.
Our next dance will be, Saturday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church. This will finish up the year of all of the Spartan Spinners dances. See you soon in the square!
Reminder: Don sent out an email about the City of Duncan Christmas Parade. It was rescheduled to Sunday, December 17 due to the weather. If you want to join Don in the parade (he will be driving his Slingshot) advertising the Spartan Spinners Club, please meet him at the Duncan Event Center at 119 S. Spencer Street, Duncan at 3 pm promptly. Hoping that some of you can join him as it will be a festive event. If you have any questions, be sure to touch base with Don.
